Inspired by the brave U.S. women secret agents who fought the Nazis in WW II.

An unforgettable group of heroic but mostly unknown American women joined Britain’s intelligence services fighting the Nazis in the French Underground during WWII. Meet the unsung secret agents who shed their privileged identities to secretly work as spies, operatives, and saboteurs in the United Kingdom's death struggle against Germany. The characters are loosely based on flesh-and-blood heroines who lived large and fought hard for the cause, including an Olympic-wannabe ski champion, a B-actress from Hollywood, a woman posing as a 'Honey Trap,' and a debutante from Boston recruited by MI-5.

What people are saying…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This story deserves 10+ Stars As an avid reader of over 350 books per year, I have to say it has been a long time since I’ve read such an enticing and inspiring story that I have enjoyed so much ... It’s REAL! You become the spy. You experience the emotions, fear and adrenaline, that the characters do. The pages fly by because you can’t wait to see the outcome. Please take time to read this book.” ~ Reviewer

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Best novel of my year! If I read it twice, can I give it TEN stars? Ciji Ware has long been a favorite of mine, and she is at the absolute TOP of her game here. The story grabs you by the throat ... and heart ... from Page One, and doesn’t let you go until the very last words. Fact and fiction are labelled clearly in the “cast of characters” up front — and deftly intertwined throughout ... and it will likely be on my top 3-5 historical novels always. It really is THAT good!  Can’t wait for the NEXT books in this series!!!” ~ Reviewer

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This book is so addictive I could not stop reading it. I just kept saying to myself.. just one more chapter. The history, characters and story are well researched and presented. Give yourself a treat and order this book if you are interested in women during WW2, the horrific history of the nazis, surprising romance and how the spy network worked to save so many innocent people. I do hope she is working on another book in this genre. I cannot wait!” ~ Reviewer

Look Inside Ch.1

Landing By Moonlight

June, 1942
"Is the dog drugged yet?" she whispered.

"Yes," he whispered back in English, although half the time he spoke to his accomplice in his native French, "Out cold, under the desk downstairs."

"We won't have killed him, will we?"

"Shouldn't have," came the reply.

"Andre's conked out too, then?"

Henri Leblanc could hear the excitement threading through Catherine's low-pitched, breathy voice, a soft, soothing sound that had so attracted him from the first time they'd met in this very building in the heart of the district known was Washington D.C.'s Embassy Row.

"We won't hear anything out of the guard--at least until dawn breaks," he assured her.

With a gesture, Catherine indicated they should advance from the public reception area of the French embassy, deep in shadow at 2:00a.m., toward their next destination: a closet inside the converted mansion where they were to crack a safe and "borrow" a book of secret Vichy naval codes, leaving the enemy none the wiser.

Never far from Henri's thoughts was the memory of the incredible day he'd first encountered Catherine Farnsworth Cahill Thornton, the Farnsworth part of her name having particular resonance given the legendary influence of her Minnesota mining family in the halls of Congress. Observing her slim figure in the embassy's dark hallway, it struck Henri that meeting Catherine nine months before the Japanese attacked Pear Harbor was one of those moments that changed his life. America was in the war now, a leading member of the Allies, rendering Leblanc's life even more chaotic, as it was for all French citizens, wherever they might be marooned.
